Adverbial Expressions of Purpose

Adverbs of purpose tell what the person wanted. Notice the following patterns.

For + Noun: I went to the store for a new TV.
To + Verb: I went to the store (in order) to buy a new TV.
So that + Clause: I went to the store so that I could buy a new TV.
